I'm trying to figure out where is all this money in the city?

I am located in South East Kansas just 15 miles west of Fort Scott, and I sell at Fredonia and yes they would be yearlings in march-April but a few being born in late feb 60 days wean 2 rounds of shots and everything in between

The sale didn't look promising at first, but our calves did damn good this year and the biggest that we have ever raised. 800 pound steers $1.65, 745 pounders brought $1.62 then heifers weighed 707 and brought $153.75 Very pleased with this years calf crop! :cboy:

Should a guy go ahead and sell his calves now, or wait to after the first of the year. I'm curious to see what you guys think about what the market is going to do? Steady out or get higher or drop

Anybody know where a guy could find 30-40 #325-400 pound Holstein bulls/steers straight off the dairy or from a guy who starts them off in the Southeast Kansas, southwest Missouri, or northeast Oklahoma area.. any help would be appreciated.. also wouldn't need them til around February

Alls I can say is that my neighbor down the road has a set of cows that he had a fancy angus bull with and supposedly this bull had a 800 pound weaning weight and his calves are much lighter then his other set of cows that he had a simmi bull with probably a good 50-75 pound difference between...

Simmi.. keep em black and get exceptional growth from birth to weaning and from weaning to yearling.

Why are your calves weaning off so light? what kind of bull are you using?

What kind of weaning weights do you have?
