    generic cydectin

In the video he says they are the only university that killed all their subjects. He's contending that fecal samples can only look at egg count and egg count does not tell you worm count. It was only through killing the cattle and going through their intestines that they were able to determine...

    generic cydectin

Excellent video! I had no idea pour on wormers were so much less effective. I tried finding out who the private funders were for Dr. Tom Yazwinski, but couldn't find anything. Their studies certainly suggest that generics aren't worth anything.

    generic cydectin

The springerlink introduction states that worm load isn't necessarily reflected by egg count, which they admit is the shortcoming of the study. I had no idea. I hate when I can't access an entire paper! Thanks for the link. I'll take a look at the video tomorrow since I'll have a day off.

Lucky, is that study on-line, and if so, would you post a link. If not, can you tell me where you read it? We use a generic brand.

    Polled Hereford Bulls

We raise beef for custom slaughter, and have found it easier to sell halves and wholes when we have smaller carcasses. We have 60 acres with only 30 in pasture (since we started crops about a decade ago). Smaller cattle makes sense for us. With that said, this bulls frame size caused me to...

    Polled Hereford Bulls

In the end I ordered semen from Pharo Cattle - NT Plato Rupert 123 (http://www.pharocattle.com/Semen-Source ... reford.htm) almost solely based on looks. I found looking at bulls to be a daunting task especially since I'm not really sure what it is our herd needs. Hopefully as I gain more...

    Polled Hereford Bulls

We'll be using ai for the first time and I'm a little confused over the bulls I'm looking at. Most of them seem to have what I can only term as "swayback." We always loved the straight backs of our herefords and are wondering if there is some reason so few of the bulls we're looking at have...

Saturday: WSU AI Workshop for Beef & Dairy Cattle

Have a good time and learn much! I would have had to leave yesterday to make it there, leaving the barn roof unfinished. I wish our extension agents over here would let us know the the classes available around the state. I tried googling for this class after I posted yesterday and only found...

Saturday: WSU AI Workshop for Beef & Dairy Cattle

I'm interested in attending. Can you post the link? Most WSU classes that have to do with cattle are usually too far for me, where's it located?

What breed mix do you think?

Hereford - the calf in the picture she'd dropped the day before.

What breed mix do you think?

Thanks everyone. There was a woman out here last year who grew up raising simmental and she thought that's what this cow was mixed with. Everything about this cow is just bigger than anything else we have here. If it weren't for the fact that she was my first cow, drops a healthy calf every...

What breed mix do you think?

Not many people into cattle hereabouts. I live in western Washington. Most of what I see are blacks, reds, and occasionally Herefords.

What breed mix do you think?

This is an old cow I own and I'm wondering what breeds she might be. She weighs over 1500lbs. This was taken in March. I'm thinking Hereford cross, but she's huge compared to our Herefords.

    disappearing farm land

What a waste that they couldn't figure out what to do with their waste water since the water is so high in nutrients. In Australia since water is scarce they have been doing "aquaponics" for years. They take the nutrient rich water from growing fish, move it through crops, which filters the...
