Thanks Texas,but if I can explain it right I believe I have done that.I welded a piece of flat metal approx. 5 in. long on on the top of each side of the headgate,one was facing the rear of headgate and the other was facing the opposite way ,so I would consider that at 12 and the other at 6. It...

I have recently bought a chute that is approx. built in the 1970's. The headgate is a self-catch style and is chain driven ,the chain runs in a figure 8 pattern,but the chain was missing due to the fact that the gentleman said the chain kept breaking. It requires a #50 chain,I cant believe it...

Depending on weight of course,from the day of birth till 200# or so I just flank them to the ground, once down I use a pig and string(thats what some call it),or just use a rope but anyway that frees up your hands to either cut or band ,this is just what works well for me.....

My cow I bought recently gave birth to a seem to be healthy heifer ,the calf has thick yellow poop ,which is pretty normal from what I can gather,but the mama cow is licking the calf raw on the rear .Do I just let nature take its course or is there something I need to do?This is my first calf...

Is this something she will grow out of once she settles down or does it progress ? Should I have let her settle in and get use to seeing my family before I tried halter breaking her but she was this way as soon as I got her home,she didnt do this garbage when I loaded her.Its hilariuos to watch...
