Japan Doesn't Buy In to OIE Rules

Well this issue is only one of a list of issues to resuming trade. Solving one doesn't mean they'll just let the other's slide.

Japan Doesn't Buy In to OIE Rules

No where in that article does it say Japan is keeping up it's rules because the United States is importing Canadian beef. In fact Japan has been importing Canadian beef under 20 months of age for the last 2 years.

CFIA radio tags to be switched to battery operated tags

Not sure. I've just heard they're testing it. I don't think they even have a tag made yet. They're just making prototypes and taping them to eartags to see if they work first of all  .

 Now you're defending NAFTA? Or is that only when it comes to oil and gas? ;-)

    Rule 2

Well you started it by saying it's like a rattlesnake under your porch  . To answer your question, I'll be working with cattle. There were 29 cases of vCJD in Britian I believe plus hoof and mouth and they still have cattle ;-) .

    Rule 2

Doesn't mean it's still not under there potentially producing more. Might as well work with your neighbour where it came from to get rid of all of them rather then just sealing up and hoping for the best. I'll give you an example, if your neighbour has a weedy field and you have a field right...

    Rule 2

Daily huh? So where were the 7 new cases from this past week?      . Or the 1,448 that I haven't heard about yet    . Come on OT you can only stretch the truth so far before it's just comical. Well now you're aware of it do you...

    Rule 2

Scientific studies to come out with guidelines take time. Different diseases take different times. Look at the U.S, they took over 2 years to allow cattle under 30 months back in when it said they had no risk of having BSE. Even then you all were screaming that it was too soon and that not...

    cattle Rule 2 media inquiry

No offense but you're working for a newspaper and you're trying to find answers to those questions by asking them on an Internet forum? From my experiences already I don't think you're going to get very accurate answers.

    Rule 2

None huh? Well I was wrong about them banning all U.S cattle because I believed you  . Turns out restrictions started easing back in 95 and just continuely expanded when they started to learn more about the disease. Well before the BSE fiasco. From CFIA, Again, meterorite, walking...

    Rule 2

Breath in, breath out, ok dumb it down even more. First off I said Geographical. You do know what a Geographical area is right? An area unique because of climatic conditions, soil, precipitation, etc. Regional area is a human defined area, counties, states, countries, provinces and...

    Rule 2

 Ok, I thought maybe you could understand that but I guess I'm going to have to spell it out for you. Geographical disease meaning it only occurs in a certain geographical region because of climate. Ge-o-graph-ic-al, not re-gion-al. BSE is a regional disease meaning climate doesn't...
  14. PeaceCountryCowboy

    Rule 2

 Comparing BSE to a geographical disease affected by climate and insects, good one   . Don't make me break out the violin again OT. There were farms and ranch's just like that here that went under too. But did you ever see me use that as an excuse in any of my...

    Rule 2

True, there's lots of could's and maybe's. But that doesn't mean people and groups should jump to their own conclusions and use that to dictate trade policy. The science we do have says it's minimum risk and that trade is not going to pose any risk. I've heard the odds of actually contracting...
