Just curious what you feed em ? Hay or silage or a mix of both ? I am always interested in what other farmers feed. I finish cattle out so i dont know much about backgrounding feed rations. Just curious

Well if i could vote on the darn thing i would. For some reason i cant vote....... And i saw a quote somewhere that i have to agree with im not sure if i have it right but it went something like this......If voting made a difference it would be illegal.

The heck i would join any kind of group that would tell me how what or when to do anything. I get enough of that BS with the goverment

back when fed cattle were bringing 1.70 plus per lb we were out of beef because we couldnt bring ourselves to butcher one of our perfectly healthy cattle due to the high price. I tried to convince my wife that we should buy a horse and slaughter it for cheap meat.........No go :(

my advice is buy and sell the same market . What i mean is if you sell fat cattle in may then buy new feeders in may. Best thing i have found to reduce risk is buy and sell year round that way if cattle are high then you sell fats high if the price drops then your feeders are cheaper. That way...
