I called this week for pricing on KY31 to add in with ryegrass for feeding area cleanup. It ranges from $80.00 to $90.00 for 50# bag. Gone are the days of $40.00 per bag.
And have not been able to obtain Kobe Lespedeza in several years. Why is there such a problem with this.
It is a great idea, but i will say i have not had very good luck with Crimson in the spring , if any clover is spread in spring i will frost seed White or Red in mid to late February.
Tennessee Tuxedo , where are you located. I am in west Tennessee. I have two herd bulls right now. One is a 5.9 frame and the other is a 5.8. Both are great animals. I have also recently began a cross breeding program of Red Angus cattle with a Hereford bull for red baldies.
This is the site i use for what i need to move cattle across state line. I sell Registered and commercial Red Angus and have this site on my phone also.

thanks i do have about a 20 mile drive on a highway. The bales are 6x6 an i currently stack them and strap on a flat bed trailer. I'm looking for something quicker and easier.
I am looking to purchase a new hay inline trailer. I need to know how a loaded trailer handles on uneven rough terrain. I am worried since they dump to the side that crossing uneven land may cause the trailer to dump its load.
I use the website below for any animals I will be moving across state lines. I find it very easy to use. Since I am a Red Angus Seed stock and Commercial farm. I do a fair amount of moving animals from Tennessee to other states for customers.

I rotate on the 50 acres I own and do not on the 50 acres I rent. I would agree that rotating is the way to go. I rotate based on forage height and amount and not set days, I have found this to work better that a set time frame.
Remember you are a grass farmer and the cattle are the way to...
