I'm somewhat drawn to the Spanish and Kikos. I get the impression they have more maternal efficiency (# of kids weaned relative to the does' weight at time of weaning) and they appear less susceptible to parasites and possibly are easier keepers.

No, they are still doing fine. Just considering adding in some goats to clean back some brush and cedars.

If your friend hasn't done so already, check with trucking companies near the destination point to see about a back haul. They are much less expensive. Perhaps the local John Deere, Case IH, or heavy equipment dealer can suggest a trucking company.
