    Thanks for the reply. She is home raised on my place. Has had all her vaccines. Vet seemed to think a blood test would not help. I am going to try to talk to the Vet again tomorrow to see if he has any more suggestions. Like I said, she has never been in real good condition since I got her...

    Chance she will survive?

    I pulled a cow out of a gully once and she had a broken back leg. I never knew if it broke when I pulled her out or if she broke it trying to cross the gully. I had to put her down. I wouldn't give much hope for your cow making it, especially if she was old.

    I think it will eventually slide off the bone. I would bring it in, keep them away from critters.

    I never put a trough that close to a wire fence. Too easy to push into the fence and tear something up.
