If you haven't had minerals out before they will likely slow down on their consumption after a while. Mine eat more when they are on hay than when they are grazing spring grass. Just my 2 cents.
Just used the Pregnostx test. Almost $10 per test but includes all materials needed. Have used the Biopryn test for years where you draw blood and send it off. Pregnostx is from the same company. Slightly more expensive but has its advantages. Got a 6 test kit from Valley Vet.
Update on calf. Temp was 103.6 today. Gave banamine and LA300. Examined the area. Does not appear to have pus. Did not lance. No outer wounds except for a small round red spot. About the size of the end of my little finger. Will continue to monitor. Still have cow and calf in grass trap...
I have not put my hands on him. Plan to do that in the am. I saw him nursing just before dark. Not running and playing but not dragging around either. Have LA300 on hand. Is that something to give? What temp should I consider fever?
I changed preferences a few days ago and looks like that may have stopped me from getting daily emails. I still have it set to get emails. Whats up?
Thanks!
I HATE smuttgrass!! Velpar will kill it but will also kill trees. Glyphosate will kill it and everything around it. Then you have other weeds come up. Pronone power pellets are expensive but handy. Same active ingredient as Velpar.
I HATE smuttgrass! Harder to control than Chinese tallows.
