Hi Hugh, we just added 4 Icelandic sheep to the farm. We are stopping the calves cold turkey on the bottle also. Very noisey, but they are eating grain just great!!

I breed and raise Myotonic goats here on our farm, I have a very reliable large animal vet that does all our testing, comes out when he is needed, no problem. I don't think everytime an animal is sick you should just call the vet!! How could anyone afford to raise anything? I asked for help...

You all can disagree all you want, I listened to someone that said to take them off , so I did. Bottom line, IT WORKED!! They seemed to be more interested in drinking the electrolyte fluid and not the MR, and now they are nibbling on calf starter, and hay, and seem to be just fine!!! Thank you...

And that is what I treated first and formost!! Did quite well I might ad. They are doing just fine.

Ok, I also belong to another baord and you will find quite a few cattle ranchers that say "take them off it" Thats why I was wondering how new raisers know which way to go.

Now, I was told over and over to get them off the milk RIGHT AWAY!! Some said do it, some said don't. To many different opinions when it comes to raising animals. So who do us newbies listen to??? :?:

Quick question please... Both the calves have been off replacer for two full days for the scours, I added the raw eggs also to the electrolyte fluid. They love it, lol. Anyways, the scours have cleared, now how should I get them back to the replacer without making there gut crazy? Thanks,

Hey hugh, I just keep running into you everywhere on the net, LOL. Same here, we have 2 two week old calves. One bottle in the am, another in the pm. Trying to get rid of scours right now.

Thank you, She is doing real well. I am going to keep them seperated. The bull started scouring a few days ago also. He seems pretty good today. Lots of fluids, no milk for two days. He is starting to nibble on clean straw, and pellets now. All in all, pretty good thanks to all the help : )

Ok, will do. She said they were getting 2 pints twice a day. I will be increasing it to two pints three times a day very soon.
