calf with breathing issues and no temp

Thanks; I guess we'll just take him into the vet and see if there is a similar issue. Thanks again.

calf with breathing issues and no temp

He's been that way for a month. We treated with Draxxine at first. He seemed to improve slightly but still seems to struggle with breathing. He seems to be taking deep breathes like he just can't quite get his lungs filled. He is full of piss and vinegar when I rope him. But the panting...

calf with breathing issues and no temp

We have a little bull calf -- 3 months old-- that is breathing hard to the point of panting. When he runs a little, his tongue hangs out and he is struggling to breathe. We took his temp and he is normal. Not sure what the next step is.

    Rattlesnake bite and bloat

But the problem is that the bite was on her neck--underneath. We figured initially that it must have caused enough swelling of her throat to cause the bloat. We did threat the bloat by hosing her, but now she seems to always bloat slightly every time she eats. Also the bloat is not high on...

    Rattlesnake bite and bloat

We had a little heifer rattlesnake bit a couple of weeks ago; it must have got her on the throat because she was also bloated. I administered banamine and an antibiotic for the bite and Therabloat for the bloat. The Therabloat didn't work so I needled her--that didn't work either. I finally...

    I don' have a clue--help!

Draxxine is one that we used. It took the temps down to almost 101 even; two days later, temps spiked back up to almost 104. Dispositions are good, they are eating and drinking. Snotty noses are gone, ears are perky, some still coughing (28 days later). They received all their vaccinations...

    I don' have a clue--help!

:???: Bought some heifers averaging around 500 pounds. They came in with a temp average of 103 and so I gave them a shot of penicillin. Temp wasn't down yet a couple of days later (some were higher) so gave them all another round. Almost 10 days later the temps finally started dropping close...

    Bull with hoof growth

Identified the problem. It was an abscess that ate away about 1/4 of the hoof. What we were seeing, however, was that the hoof had grown around the abscess. Vet carved it away, cleaned the abscess, packed it, and wrapped it. We are looking for a full recovery :D

    Bull with hoof growth

It doesn't quite look like the hairy wart pictures. Even when I wash the hoof, it is black. Almost like you'd take a chunk of wood and stick it on the hoof. I'll try to get pics and post.
