The "eye of the master" brought belt buckle cattle in the 50's and selection for phenotypes that let dwarfism propagate itself through the gene pool. The "eye of the master" brought elephants to our midst during the 80's and selection for phenotypes that couldn't have a calf, couldn't feed it...

elkwc: So, in your 39 years of corporate life, did the regional managers tell the CEO of the company what to do? How often did the regional managers send ultimatums to the board DEMANDING they fire the CEO?

Hey Jim; I'll offer up another option..... Maybe the 4 complaint signatories that applied for the CEO job 5 years ago and did not get it were ticked off because they got passed over. Maybe they have been sitting in the grass like snakes waiting to strike......... Don't guess or assume, find...

    Hereford Genetic Summit

The Hereford breed can't even begin to make progress as long as members are still debating horn vs. poll. We expect our bulls to go breed cows not spend time fighting each other. That's the bull(s) that sires the most calves, not the "dominant horned" or "dominant polled" fighting bull.

    polled heeford semen

Hardy Edwards purchased the JWR share and a large supply of semen last year. Ask him if he'll sell direct. I'm sure he'd be interested in talking cattle. HME Herefords Office: 706-742-2658 Hardy Cell: 706-714-9012

    LCC Back N Time

If you are trying to make show calves, there are probably other sires today more desirable, but might still be somewhat in the mix. If you are trying to raise cattle that have the best potential for profitability in a commercial beef environment, go a totally different direction. FWIW - Never...

Any comments on NJW 73S M326 Trust 100W as to his merits? Is he a product of the show ring or a performance prospect? from the 2012 NJW sale catalog - "Although the show ring is not at all the focus of our program, we feel that it is a superb way to advertise and promote our cattle, especially...

    2012 Genex Hereford Bulls ?

Thinking with one's pocket book is always a very wise choice.......... A lower investment level and a higher profit potential. I like that.

    Domino 3027 offspring pictures?

A picture won't tell you if a cow is maternal or not, but you might get "some" idea of udder quality. There are pictures in the K&B dispersal catalog of some wet females and he was a definite udder improver there according to the pictures. Sale prices said so too. I've seen some good/hard...

    $102k @ Holdens/$160k @ Coopers

Any comments on the $102,000 bull at Holden Herefords yesterday or the $160,000 bull at Cooper Herefords today?

    $100 semen

Never underestimate Hereford breeders for making poor fiscal pricing decisions. There are Hereford sire options with high proof levels and lower investment cost out there. One just has to find them. OR, just ask the owner for a "good friend" discount, if the semen is that important to you.
