    Bull nettle

That was over 30 years ago before we knew about or had good surfactants. We have come a long way since then.

    Bull nettle

The secret to controlling bull nettle is to spray when they are in bloom. I have had success using 2,4-D and a surfactant. An old retired county agent told me to use 2 tbsp. of 2,4-D, 1 tbsp of liquid Dawn soap in 1 gallon of water. With a hand pump up sprayer, spray individual plant to point...

    MSMA

Unfortunately, people use products in manner that the product was not intended. MSMA is labeled for use in turf grass. Read the entire label it clearly says "do not feed treated forage to livestock or graze treated areas"

    Old round bales

Try turning them up on end and pouring about 8 gallons of molasses and let it soak in. A couple of days latter go set them on a bare spot in pasture.. What the cows don't eat will add organic material and nutrients for worn out ground.

    Protein or Energy

Murray, you have about half of the story. It takes about 30 days to get back to what the calf weighed the minute you pulled it off the cow. It is the health aspect that makes a weaned calf more desirable. I am going to use an analogy that I think everyone can understand, Your unweaned calf...

    Protein or Energy
