Something my Dad used to do was to throw 1 or two bales of good Alfalfa hay into the pond. Believe it or not it worked well for him.

I have two Angus bred Simental/Angus crossed cows due to calve in September. What would be a good feed mixture to supplement their pasture grazing? I was thinking about cracked corn with a small amount of Oats and some added mineral salts. Would this be good? Thanks in advance for all the advice!
