Being new to all of this l didn't think the grass was suppose to get that tall? But what do l know l see my neighbor cutting his 4 acres with a ridding mower and his grass is always short to me but he also only keeps one steer on his place.
I don't necessarily want it to get that tall, but I have spring flush issues where I'm chasing grass. If I have more cows, I'm short grass by late summer, so instead i graze tall at times, mow sometimes and hay if i' m feeling like a little stress.
We had an almost open winter here which is unheard of , and after so much drought, I was not going to mow and risk being short forage.
