Lot of interesting recipes in this months issue of "Front Porch" (Arkansas Farm Bureau's bi-monthly magazine). I found the Bobcat recipe interesting. Never considered eating a cat, or dog, but have tried most everything else. Here's a link to the main index page...

Click on Keith Sutton's "Wild Game Cookery". Many recipes, the bobcat is the last one on the page. Any of ya'll ever tried cat?

NO! AND I NEVER WILL!

That is my reaction too, 3way. But after seeing a recipe in the ARFB pub, I had to wonder if it was more common than I thought.

We have a friend who killed a cougar a couple years ago, and they pressure-canned some of the meat. A jar of it came to our house. It is still in the jar.

After reading the bobcat recipe, I wondered about that. Mountain lion would be a lot of meat. So, Kathie, whatcha gonna do with it :D

Probably leave it right where it's at, until it has aged sufficiently that I can say, without guilt, that it probably isn't good anymore . . . . . . .

If you ever get as far south as Austin, from there on South & West there is a better than 50:50 chance you will eat some cat somewhere along the line.

I bet Jogeephus could do a good job of preparing it!

I'm not eating no cat. Tried coyote once and that was terrible and I like dogs better than cats so I just can't see myself going there.

Well, at least you have a good reason! (But that doesn't explain the blood sausage, and we won't even mention head cheese, will we?)
