Moving round bales with ATV

Help Support CattleToday:

You could probably find a used tumble bug on Craigslist and give it a try as long as you are not trying to move really heavy bales.
I'm not sure what size bales you are trying to move or what size ATV you have.
I'd be a little Leary if you have to go down any hills. A 1000lb roll of hay behind a 6-700lb ATV could be a recipe for getting hurt badly.

Y'all must be on flat ground.
ATV hauling or pulling hay in these hills has train wreck written all over it.
I have got pucker factor with a 65 hp tractor at times.

Watch Video..... An Iron Baltic works good moving round hay with and ATV.....It is an ideal affordable solution for small-scale farming to transport small quantities of bale across various terrain.
Suitable for ATVs, UTVs and other vehicles with a 50 mm / 2'' hitch ball mount.

Are there any contraptions, homemade or publicly offered, that allow a user to move round bales with a four-wheeler?

I used my 4 wheeler and utv with a carhood its cheap and easy to come by but you gotta put the bales on the end and or go slow or it will roll off.

That set up could be improved with a electric wince instead of the hand crank just a lil welding and wiring and will make life easier

Ingenious...and how, pray tell did you maneuver the round bale to the sled/car hood?

Mo:

As a teenager (I'm 48 now), I fed rolled hay with a pair of mules, and a car hood. I had about 25 cows, and had to feed one about everyday. People rib me about not having a cab tractor. Everyday I get on my tractor to feed, I think it could be worse.
