So cool so cool.
Last year on the advice of my vet, I got to pull some stunts. All I will say is it involved a 14 gauge needle as a last resort.
This cow this last year had mastitis and treatment was long but successful.
This year about a months ago I noticed the quarter swelling and told hubby. No problem, that was the same quarter as last year. It's always swollen
Noted again it looked bigger about three times. This time it was absessed at the side...iPhones are cool when it comes to vet communication...point, shoot, click, send pick with details, get advice.
Conversation...
Vet..Need to lance or it will blow out
Me...needle or knife
Vet...3 inches deep
I ask. You mean long right
Vet...deep
Me...how deep?...asks the chicken
Vet..3" deep, two inches long...don't get kicked. Tie leg tight. Squeeze to drain
I ask are you sure?
Vet...YES
Vet....then flush with 2 litres of water with prepodine...with a clean ivomec gun. Stick the gun in the lance...needles of prescribed drugs, infuse teT with special formula and do again tomorrow
Me...do I have to stitch, I'm dead...on my tombstone...
Vet..no stitching
Me..(vet knows she is heavy in calf)...can I ace her...oragel now going to be part of the calving box
Vet...lol you can ace (atrevet....calming, almost sleep like induced)
Me...10 cc
Vet no answer
Box says 8 cc for 1300 lb cow...ya 10
Half hour later....you what....
Me...written on the box, by a vet expired 2009
Oh you have the old stuff...ok
Me...I did it, it was yucky ....disgusting but I did it! Can I be you assistant?
Vet...laugh. Someday

Hubby took a vid and some pics
Way too cool
Yup! I am gonna be her assistant someday....yes dreaming :)
