72 hours and no heat at all

so soon after the cidr they should still be on the same schedule. theoretically I could just start a new follicular wave and go again

72 hours and no heat at all

I swear I just insist on making all the mistakes. Did I just find my problem? My teenager was drawing up meds for me while I was putting in CIDR's. I went and looked at the bottles. 10 doses in the vile we should have used 6, so the GnRH bottle should be less than half full. It is...

72 hours and no heat at all

Interesting, I just assumed that they had a silent heat. Perhaps they did not ovulate at all. The highland semen is not readily available and is more expensive. Also the only success I have ever had is with a good strong standing heat (guess that is what makes me comfortable.) I really...

72 hours and no heat at all

Well not a single sign of heat out of any of the other five cows. I think I will hit them with GnRH and start over.

72 hours and no heat at all

One looks like she is heating up. She is bellowing, her tail is slimy and she is trying to mount others. No one is mounting her and her sticker has not changed. Ground is snow covered over frozen. I noticed some playing and grooming with a couple others.

72 hours and no heat at all

Do you find that heifers take longer to be in standing Heat after the 7-Day cidr and PG?

72 hours and no heat at all

They were with a bull very briefly. He is gone now and the butcher thought he was actually quite old. I have seen Heat associate activities in them but never witnessed them in a standing Heat

I'm not sure exactly if their weight but they're two years old and have what looks to me like a good body condition

72 hours and no heat at all

I am synchronizing six Highland heifers. The CIDR were pulled with a PG shot 72 hours ago not one sign of heat. Estrotect stickers are all on. Have you ever seen this?

Heat detectors with only two cows?

Well just a follow up. We have highlands, so I don't know that any of this translates to other breeds. With all that hair they certainly do not like warm weather. We tried and tried to do heat detection and saw NOTHING! As soon as the weather turned cold, the submissive one is hot to...

1st attempt is a fail. Looking for feedback

I will continue to learn manually. The speculum is only for some one to visually verify that I am in the place I think I am until I am more confident. Of course it will not help me with depth. With all this heat we will try and watch for a natural heat. I that does not work we will sync...

    Ai

I am brand new as well. I found that I was too deep with my rectal hand. I was not surprised by how big around the cervix was but how short it was. Felt like the entire structure was the width of my thumb deep, rings and all. I looked and looked for more of it, but in the end I could...

1st attempt is a fail. Looking for feedback

I read somewhere deep in this forum that someone said 90% of the time he is breeding at 72 to 96 hrs. Has that been your guys experience?

1st attempt is a fail. Looking for feedback

Thanks for your replies, We are leaning to do it on our own. The first attempt took a really long time as I got oriented, and I am sure that did not help on the stress. I was able to manipulate the cervix over the gun and palpate it just inside the uterus. The second one went a little...
