[QUOTE="shadyhollownj, post: 954056, member: 9320"] Midtencattle I was interested in a donor cow that went as lot 64. STAR SJS ON DOMARK 508U ET bred to lock and load. she was a four year old. The description is her maternal sire but may be the same cow. I thought she would have gone for more than 3,700. There is some embryos from her in the sale I was interested in. Dont ask me why I like her cause I couldnt tell you due to my lack of experience in judging or showing. She just has a look I like. What do I not see that made her go for so little. So DOCHARRIS should I have booked the flight already. What you say doesn't make it easy not to go. I would definitely go if the wife could go but she has work and some certification classes she cant miss. I still want to for all the reasons you say. I think I could learn a ton by going to a big sale like that. I go to sales around PA and Maryland but they only have around 40 head and arent the caliber of star lake. I really want to get my stock to a different level and feel I need to go to see other operations and cattle in that part of the country to really know what good cattle look like. I would love to buy some cattle but the shipping 1300 miles would be a ton and I dont feel like driving 23 hours each way. I feel the embryos would be the easiest route but not the best. Also the flights get in to tulsa at 10am so I would miss the beginning of the sale if i didnt go thursday. The return flights leave the latest at 4 so I would miss the end if I wanted to leave saturday. I mean you cant miss the first or last lot of the sale right? That would be crazy or am I just crazy.
