Knew prices were low and have been falling didn't expect it to be as low as it was though. We're happy to have them out of the way and able to conserve more hay. Hard to watch the auctioneer beg for bids trying to find a starting point. Sold a 600 lb. red bull October the 29th, 2015 for 168.50 per lb. Now here in less than 2 months a 590 lb. black bull brought us 146.50 per lb. Hard to believe they've fallen so quickly. Sold 10 hd. 3 Black Bulls weighing 590, 560, and 530 for 146.50 per lb. 2 Red Bulls & 1 Black Bull weighing together at 1,700 lbs. brought 143.50 per lb. each. 1 Black Bull weighing 500 lbs. brought 134.00 per lb. 1 Black Heifer weighing 570 lbs. brought 132.75 per lb. 1 Black Heifer weighing 420 lbs. brought 160.00 per lb. 1 Black Heifer weighing 485 lbs. brought 147.50 per lb. Hope this free fall begins to slow soon, hopefully by Spring anyway. Did retain 6 heifers and 1 bull at least they aren't getting them for those prices. Anyway I've seen worse prices but it's hard to not be disappointed and to not complain a bit after going through those nice prices this last year. Feed and hay hasn't came down much here and the grocery or fast food restaurant isn't dropping their beef prices. Well now I've got the complaining out for a while, hope everyone is having a nice day.
