I took my calves to the weekly cattle sale at Warwick on Monday for todays sale. I had 14 heifers and 13 steers. The heifers made to $2.20 cents /kg ($1.00/lb), the steers to $2.40 /kg ($1.09/lb). I did not hang around for the weights as they were a bit behind with weighing. I think the heifers will go about 260kg (572 lb) overnight curfew weight and the steers 300kg (660 lb) curfew weight which will equate to about $600 and $700 respctively. Here are the calves yesterday when I yarded them. I was happy with the prices, the calves brought 15-20 cents above the market. I would like your current prices here, but we are happy with what we are getting. The high Australian dollar is keeping a ceiling on the market. If it was to drop to around 90 cents, then I think our cattle prices would reach new ground. Ken
