Have a heifer that lost her calf. Came up with a graft two days later. Went out in the pasture to bring her up to the shed - - and she was baby sitting four calves including one that was nursing her. While we were moving her, she ran up to and sniffed every calf that was in the area. Is she super maternal or something else?

Its a good sign she wants one anyways. She was still going around looking for her own with the sniffing. Take a shot of perfume or cologne and spray her in the nose and the calf on the a.ss and neck behind the head and pen them together for a couple days, should be an easy pairing. May not even need it, but quick and easy to do.

X2. We have used Vicks rub in the past with good results too.
