Do you add baking soda? If so, how much?

I do not use it for feeding out cattle. I do use it (bicarb) in the early spring growth. I have trouble with BUN (blood urea nitrate). This is too much nitrogen in the cows system and they slough it off in their urine. This causes the PH in the uterus to be off. They will cycle perfect but they cannot conceive. I am breeding during the lush spring grass growth, so I put bicarb in one of the compartments of my mineral feeder. Cattle love it - pig out on it!!
I can understand why it would be a good practice to put a little in their grain.

Anyone here use an ionophore in their feed?

It's in our protein pellet.
