I think one of my bulls has gone Brokeback Mountain on me! Turned "Elvis" out yesterday with about 30 open cows to do some socializing and all he wanted to do was talk to one of my other bulls in another field. Two fences and a 16' drive between them. The cows were across a field about 300 yards away and after about an hour I got tired of his bellerin' so I brought them up to the house and "introduced" them to Elvis. After they ate the grain I poured out for them and left, I had to run Elvis off the hill with a stick but he finally went to the herd. All was fine and dandy til I got home this afternoon and the sorry sucker was back up here at the house lounging around watching the bull out front while his girlfriends were all out grazing. So I got mad and turned another bull in with him. I let them fight it out for a half hour or so and then ran them off the hill to where the girls were. As soon as the new bull saw the cows he forgot about Elvis and went about his business. I tried to push Elvis up to the herd but he does everything he can to stay away from them and last time I checked he was standing out in the field about 100 yards away from everybody else. He's definately the low bull on the scrotum pole but I'm starting to think he might look good wrapped in white paper! Thought y'all might get a kick out of that! cfpinz
