I get a bit bitter sometimes, seeing all my friends out doing fun things. Even those who farm/ranch. And all we seem to do is work. Heck, I had to determine my wedding date between 8 different seasons. 3rd week of June is our anniversary/vacation time every year. I work a full time job, handle the administrative side of cattle, assist with working cattle, running seed, fencing, moving equipment, you get it...the list goes on. And friends ask "Hey do you want to ____" and I'd love to but there is no downtime. In the off chance I do go do something, I am ready for bed by 9 because a 9PM bedtime sounds FANTASTIC. Lately, I've been preparing supper at 9:30 and we haven't even had to irrigate hard this year. Boys started back to school yesterday and I won mom of the year because they had to fend for themselves when it came to supper. They were fine with it but it killed me inside. Hubby and I were in bed by midnight and I was up at 5:30 to make them a good breakfast to redeem myself and head to work. It just doesn't stop.
