Sanderson Farms (SAFM) – The poultry producer agreed to be acquired for about $4.5 billion, or $203 per share, by privately-held food producer Cargill and agriculture investment firm Continental Grain. The all-cash deal represents an 11.3% premium over Friday's closing price for Sanderson Farms. Sanderson shares surged 8.3% in the premarket.

Consolidation has been going on forever but now it's on a larger scale. Long ago there were 40 acre homesteads but when the family couldn't make it on 40 acres they sold out to a neighbor and moved to town. The neighbor eventually couldn't make it on his 80 acres and sells out and so on until today when large companies and corporations are doing the same thing. Some day the decision will be ours to make or our families to make.

If Biden Administration gets the their tax plan passed there will be a whole lot more farms sold and or consolidated.
