Okay I know that there is not a short answer to this question but here it goes.

What exactlly is BSE and how do we avoid it entering the US ??? I know its mad cow but can anyone explain simply where it comes from and how we can prevent it or can we not??

Thanks for the info. I have been reading what I can find but being new to cattle some is a little hard to understand. If you believe what you hear on the news its the doomsday disease for the cattle industry but from what Im reading on the internet it seem that it should be very controlabe almost preventable.

Any thoughts from the more experienced ?????

BSE is being controlled and prevented. What you see on the news, or read in the paper, is sensationalized journalism meant to draw more viewers or readers and amounts to, in a preponderance of cases, high fiction.
