ABS glue is primarily for use with non-pressurized fittings, such as "DWV" (Drain, Waste, and Vent) plastic pipe. The ABS glue would possibly hold for a while but expect a leak or blow-out if pressure much over 10-20 psi. On another note, always use PVC Cleaner (e.g., the blue solvent) plus the PVC Cement. The cleaner softens the fitting areas and better allows the cement to attach to the fitting ends. This is why PVC connections are called "Solvent Welding".
