Good point SPH we already told Jacob (our son) that we would want him to help next try. We also plan to move the panels to make the pen a little longer. I think that will help a longer run down the fence. The C14 was the last bull we videoed and I think the boss was about wore out by that point. We had worked all the mature cows at the farm before coming home to get the videos, so he was tired when we started this project. The good news is we palpated all of the cows called open on 3/1 and they were all safe. We palpated the 2 and 3 year old cows called open on 3/2 today and had 6 still open. We pulled the bull today so will recheck the 6 with a blood test in May when we start the first round of shots on the calves. We feel most of these will be bred once we recheck. We will recheck heifers next week, hopefully we won't have many opens in that pen.
