Reckon you can do whatever you want. Me? I leave them be - if I have to hand feed, separate, powder their ass or whatever - then they need to do one of two things - go into my freezer - or go down the road. Sooner the better because now it is costing me money - and that is the driving factor - period! Sell it early and save your money - or eat it early and enjoy the darned steaks. You have to spend money to bring a runt up to normal size and you do not mind - then you have more bucks than me. Some are born to be runts and you can spend a pile of dollars on something that will always be a runt. Just because this cow SEEMS to have lots of milk - not sure how you tell that without actually milking her out - does not mean she does. Bag size means diddly. I am with Angie on this one - mind you I do not remember the last time we killed the best steer in the field for home use. You can baby this thing - cost you time, effort and money - or you can just sell it or put it in the freezer. Mom pulls this stunt again, sell the calf and eat her. They'll both taste just fine. You will do as you see fit - and good on ya' for that. Regards from the middle east, Bez+
