    I agree with cfpinz .... we use 2 2x6's and bolt them together on both sides of the fence ... then use a come-along and tractor to pull it tight. The wood is soft enough to allow the bigger wires to mash into it and still grab the smaller wires. Have to change the 2 wood pieces after a few...

    Thanks for the good ideas ... extremely helpful. Cowcop .... here's a couple of pics I posted in the past. The calf was born a couple weeks ago (3/4 Sim/Red Angus) ... the heifer is half blood, bred and due early 2008.

    Having a field day in April - need ideas

    We've been building our herd for 3 years now (Simm and Sim-Angus cattle), and plan to do a field day open house to tell folks in our area we are here (and want to sell some cattle). If any of you have done this with success or lessons learned, I'm all ears. Appreciate any thoughts.

    I also have a couple of SimX mamas that tend to look that way while raising the calf ... both have produced great calves with their work clothes on.

    The bull is a Dream On son (Dream On has been the among the top 2-3 bulls used in the Simmental breed, noted for calving ease). Our bull was born Jan 06... 20 months old. BW 84 lbs. Adj WW 641 ... ADJ YW 972. Thanks for asking.
