    Need working facility

TNTrout, Drill stem is a catch all term for oil field pipe. Its usually 2 3/8 or 2 /7/8. Its almost always used pipe of various quality determined by how it was used. A lot of the pipe called drill stem was never used as as true drill stem. More often than not it was used to transport oil...

    Kubota re-gen

Can you just run it real hard for 30 minutes or so to get everything hot and blow out the soot? Thats what I would have to do with my 2008 cummins in a Dodge 3500.

    Today's Adventure

Twins. I think its happens way more than we know. To many times the cow will abandon the first one after a couple hours when she has the next one. She has one calf, cleans it feeds it and it goes down for a nap. A hour plus later she goes off and has another and never thinks twice about...

    Replacement females???

Look for herd sell out's. Some of my best have come from herd sell outs that only had 5 to 10 cows.

    I see train wreck coming

Its ironic that the neighbor in my area that grazes his place to the dirt and as a result has thin, stunted growth cows is from California.

    11month Jersey with cut tongue

LA 300 will work just as well. Your Vet should know this. Most of the time LA300 is used if the cow is bred. Sodium Iodine can cause abortions. Treatment success is much better if you catch it early. Look for excess drooling and not eating.

    What happened to white angus?

I have a few that look just like the pic that Rocket posted. They are excellent cows. They are sired by a registered black angus bull over a pink nosed Charolais dam. The bull I am using now is a non-homozygous black Limo and their calves can be red, black, or white. They will have dark...

    Culling Bred Cows?

Yours are the kind I have been buying if they are long bred. Send them to me if you don't want them going to the packers. I will delay their demise another 10 months or so. Your $1250 value will depend on age & current weight if their condition is as you mentioned.

    I’m an idiot

The man eater I bought I had to herd back to the pens with a tractor. That took a while. She was too mean to run off when there was a human close by to kill...

    Passive Income From Your Ranch

I have read a few of these and most state they will do a surety bond but they have 15 years to do it even though the state law says 10 years. Even 10 years is way longer than I would want. I have some battery storage folks sniffing around now and their contract reads the same 15 years plus...

    The one and done cows

2 to 3 months they are fairly accurate 8 to 9 months they are fairly accurate 4 to 7 months, they really should be labeled as "were not sure, somewhere between 3 1/2 and 7 1/2 months".

    futures

The futures on feeders are getting whacked this morning. Not sure why. It hasn't seemed to effect the local prices yet but I am sure it will at some point. https://finviz.com/futures_charts.ashx?t=FC&p=d

    Preg testing/weening

I have done that before on purpose with a old cow going to town. Leave her with the weaned calves for a few days brings some security to the calves or so they think. It works well. The weaned calves have some good hay and creep and the old cow will benefit when she ships.

    Holding Pen Size

I would say thats kind of small for that length of time. I would build a pasture with high tensile net wire connected to it that was about a acre in size.

    Looking for suggestions on calves

Mine is not full blood. Black in color but not homozygous. 74% Limo. Bought from Brehm Farms in San Antonio. There are a few full blood guys in Texas. Look at the Texas Limousin Association for some ads.

    Looking for suggestions on calves

They look good but hard to determine if they are what you want without knowing the rate of daily gain. A good bull will make average cows perform better in most cases. I've mentioned it before but I am okay with average cows that produce calves that sell at the average price for number one...

    Injection Site Abcess

Bypass the first step seeing what you have. It really doesn't matter. Just lance it and get it over with. Where vinyl gloves. The stuff that comes out doesn't wash off. Let it drain for a few minutes. Fill a 10MM syringe without the needle with Iodine. Stick the end...

    On the heavy side

An older calf and winter just a couple months away will slim her down some. She looks healthy going into fall to me.

    Multimin 90 Question

You do have to have a prescription in TX because of the Selenium. Ask your vet or find a vet that sells vaccines, wormers and such and just ask them if you can buy it. They will ask you why you want it. Its not real dangerous if administered per label, but can be deadly if over dosed.
