Hobby Farmer Newby could use advise

Also, I think you will need to feed hay for more than 3 or 4 months. I live in south Georgia and I feed hay for 6 months and that is with me planting winter grazing.

    Cow/Calf Operation

Get a few cows that you think look good (pretty). Get you some boots and a belt with a big buckle and a cowboy hat and go visit with your friends and "talk" about your cow heard! You will be much happier on that plan.

    Horse trailer

Ditto to chevytahoe except I tie my horses loosly. Sometimes I tye them on a slant and don't use the cut gate. Letting the horses decide where to go doesn't make sense to me.

    Need advice/help

Cheap panels will be a waste of time no matter what the size of your cattle. Way cheaper and better to fix # 4 where it works for you. Add a gate and fortify the area that you will be putting pressure on them. This is a long term fix that makes sense.

Best place to buy T Posts in East Texas.

I used six and a half foot t post. The 6 foot post that they had at the big box store were cheaper but the extra 6 inches sure came in handy. My fertilizer supplier and feed store both had good pricing on quanity orders. You will have to ask and explain that you can use a whole bundle.

    Cattle Guards

You will probably be better served in the long run if you establish two pastures; one on each side of the road. Life will be a whole lot easier if you can shut off the cows from your roadway, not to mention the fact that you can plant winter geazing in one pasture and move the cows on and off...
