    Is it possible that Big Sexy isn't the sire? Red cow and red bull equal red calf. Maybe the calf is just very dark red?

    They do make hoof filler for horse hooves. Maybe you can clean and disinfect the hooves dry and then use some of that to fill in the cracks.

    Brown cow really looks like she has an infection in that leg. If you look close at her picture it looks like she has a split in her outer claw which probably where it started. Antibiotics and soak the foot in Epsom salt water if you can.

    Looks like ringworm to me? Go ahead and treat with ivermectin and get them on a good loose mineral.

    I really prefer the loose salt as they can get what they want faster and then go back to eating but red is slightly better than white.

    Cows have to lick on blocks a lot in order to get enough of the minerals. Loose minerals and salt they can just take a mouth full and be done.

    Can you get loose salt /mineral? We usually use Purina Wind and Rain. The cows are able to consume the required amount of minerals much easier in a loose form than a block.

    Look at the tags of the milk replacer. Get one that is all milk no soy. Feed what's recommended on the directions for now. I usually end up increasing it to more than it says but not until the calf is older. It is expensive bottle feeding a calf. Like the others said I would keep trying with mom...

    Yes you can mix Valbazen with feed. Do the whole dose at once and mix it with sweet feed.

    frostbite and calf hooves

    We had one that lost one rear hoof last year due to frostbite. We kept him and his mom locked in a corral until weaning and then fed out the steer to butcher at 9 months. His foot was just kept clean and dry.

    You can bring a stool sample of hers to the vet for a Johnes test too. Then they also can test for other parasites that may be causing issues.

    Have you tried just some cracked corn? Sometimes some cattle seem to like just plain old grain better.
