From the experience, milk (quality and quantity) helps to show the potential of the calf from the start. If there is some lack of it the calf won't show it's potential until proper nutrition will be given. The same thing works the opposite way. If there are no good genetics, but cow provides...

17days old. She's going to be a heavy weanling for sure. Older heifer is doing well too. Hopefully, soon will have an update on another blue newborn.

Today had another newborn. This time piedmontese sired bull calf, out of limx cow, 278 days gestation, calved unassisted. Really wanted a heifer from this breeding 🤦‍♀️

Yesterday's heifer. Having an issue with her dam accepting her, so some extra work will be needed for now. Then will see if she will be raised by her mom or not.

Today's arrival. Heifer by the lim bull, out of 11years old cow. There might be max 3 calves by that bull and that's all. Two were AI'ed as well, so will see what kind of calves will be born. Not much time left until finding out, one is due on the 6th and another on the 12th.
