Those weights are impressive!! Is there any sire correlation on the dam's side between the heavier weighing steer calves and lighter ones? Do you ever weigh the cows when you wean to see what % of their body weight they are weaning off? That would be interesting to see which cows are weaning off...

Those are some nice females. It looks like your program is working for you. I've used 715T for a couple years. Mainly gotten bulls out of him, but the females I got were the keeping type. As far as going to far on the maternal traits....as long as you keep your milk in check for your environment...

A friend of mine AIed a bunch of heifers to him last year. Real easy calver and the one thing he mentioned was they came really early so I would be prepared a couple weeks ahead if they were anything like his. I haven't seen the calves, but he sounded happy with them last time I talked to him.

Looks like that Kingpin son has reached/exceeded your expectations! I only had one direct daughter of Kingpin in my herd and sold her as a bred heifer, but she sold really really well. Kind of regret that decision! Any thoughts on what you will use on his heifers you keep?
