I wish I had an entire herd just like this one. Last year was her first calf and she raised a dandy of a heifer calf. This year she drops another heifer and calved 3 weeks earlier than last year. 3/27/21 Her calf at weaning last fall 3/5/22

Jeanne I’m gonna keep a handful and feed em out. We typically do a few every year for family and friends. Everything else will be sold after weaning.

I am liking the way the calves are growing off of my new Simmental bull (Casey). My mama cows are commercial angus and brangus for the most part. We will see how they look at weaning this fall. I’m located in Central Louisiana and we have been blessed with rain and grass this year.

Well we had our first calf from my new Simmental bull today. The mama is one I raised off of a commercial cow and my angus bull. Other than a little too much chrome for my liking, the bull calf is built pretty good.
