    Bar R Jet Black

That’s him next to the objective bull. He’s standing long ways

    Bar R Jet Black

I bought a Jet Black bull last year. I didn’t AI him but he is an AI’d bull. He’s a really good looking animal. Haven’t seen any of his calves yet but at 12mos he was almost the same size as my 2 year old Objective bull. Great demeanor also (so far).

    Speedway question

Yeah, I’m a one man show with small herd, like y’all. Somewhat aggravating to do a search in ABC for everything that meets an awesome all around sire & rampage always is at the top of the list but from what I’ve heard just like someone said before, I think his name fits. May try something...

    Speedway question

Thank you for the response. I was afraid that would be the answer. Would probably be a good looking bull but trouble on my end.

    Speedway question

If the dam is out of rampage & the sire is speedway, would you use offspring on heifers? Rampage is not a low birthweight bull I know but how much weight does the dam carry on offspring? The combo would make for some great momma cows with the only 2 questionable epd’s being birthweight &...

Whats in the tank for this springs breeding?

Just curious how Assertive turned out if anyone else has tried him. Friend of mine has an Assertive bull around weaning age that I’m considering. Checked Assertive’s EPD’s & he looks like he would be great on some commercial cows which is what I would want him for with the intentions of...

    Taking Weights

Sounds a lot easier than what I had imagined. Thank you.

    Taking Weights

I am getting more & more interested in switching from commercial angus to registered angus. One question I have is how does everyone take birth weights? I would imagine that if I go this route that my calves will still be born in the pasture. I read up on the Coleman ranch & it seems they do the...

    Angus bull options

Thanks for explaining. I have checked a little more into Rampage & I see where lots of people used him to breed heifers but haven’t heard of a lot of problems. Can anyone give some feedback that might have used him on heifers? These folks that have the farm are some good friends of mine & have...

    Angus bull options

Is it because somewhere along the line there was a genetic defect? I looked at the original epd’s on Rampage in ABS directory & his says DDF. I had the understanding that if it says DDF that there’s not a genetic defect potential.

    Angus bull options

So I’m still confused. Where did you find it says DDP & why does his info under his registration number say DDF? Do you have to look further to find out all info on a registered animal? Not trying to be smart at all. Just need to know for looking at future bulls.

    Angus bull options

So are you saying you would be out on the objective? DDP? I checked aaa & it says DDF. Just wanting to clarify.

    Angus bull options

Don’t have Resource aaa number yet but was told that the cow is +1 bw & he’s a +4.6. No other numbers available . The old cows will be fine. More concerned about heifers. Don’t have any numbers on my Upward bull that I have been using, either. Right now Rampage is standing out as best all around...

    Angus bull options

I stand corrected. It’s a rampage bull instead of raindance.

    Angus bull options

I need a little insight & advice, please. I have a small herd & work full time. Knock on wood I haven’t had to pull any calves which is a good thing because I can’t be at the farm all day watching & waiting due to my schedule. I am currently running an Upward bull & am keeping heifers from last...
