What are prices for chicken litter in your area. Costing roughly $38 a ton here. To do 12 acres @ 2 ton an acre just cost of litter is $912.00 not including any trucking or spreading.
I agree on the 3 acres I planted I tilled about 3 inches to break up sod and to get good soil contact. Planted late in season due to no fall rain so germination. Went from warm to cold no fall this year. Going to try shallow till to terminate covers and replant. This is why I am doing small plot.

Soil tests are a tool in the management process not only tells you what deficiency land has but also what minerals levels are ok.
I asked for a recommendation from last soil test just for their input.
