    Bale Grazing

I have bale grazed and here is how I did it. In the fall and in my area is no such thing as stock piling forage. So I would cut and bale the surplus grass in the late fall and wrap with sisal twine and leave in the pasture. Also the rake tractor had an electric herd seeder that I had a mix of...

    Clover seed spreader

In general, it takes 1.2 tons of agricultural lime per acre to raise the pH of the loam soil by one point. It is half that for sandy soil and almost double for clay soil.

    Clover seed spreader

Adjusting PH with lime is pretty expensive in our area last price I had was $70 and that was before the increase in the price of fuel.

    Clover seed spreader

Look at the photo on this site looks like there are some light weight ropes to open and close the seed flow. That is also the way I control the seed flow on the front mounted seeder. https://www.shfarmsupply.com/default.asp?page=xNewInventoryDetail&id=6552296

    Clover seed spreader

I have a M3B400R made by herd mounted on the front of the rake tractor for over seeding clover. It is a 12 volt powered model. I did buy the rheostat to slow it down but have never used it. It has been very effective in establishing crimson clover. Last year I sowed some Blackhawk arrow leaf and...

Y $40.44 cost per hole if bought at Lowes. Can you get a ready mix truck in for the concrete. That might be cheaper. And just as good.

    What will kill this weed?

What will kill this weed? I have patches of this vetchy weed in the higher drier areas of my hay meadow. Have sprayed a stronger than usual mixed round of Grazon Next and some patches died, some just stunned back and regrew, and others unaffected. It chokes out the bermuda and seems to thrive...

    Weed Wiper

Johnson grass makes good hay when cut while in the boot stage. Fertilize and cut when leafy. Boot stage if you do not know what it is is when the seed head is still covered by the leaves similar as just before tassels appear in the corn crop.

    Drought plan

Here is an article about underground water and where it is today. I live in Wood County Texas around an area that is rapidly growing and more wells are being drilled and more water being extracted. I have already had to lower the pump in one well and all of the neighbors have had to also. To...

    Consideration for drought plan

We have gone many days without any rain. My lawn was dead looking about 1 inch of rain and crabgrass is up and running like carzy wish it was in the pasture.

    Consideration for drought plan

Very good article there Brute thanks for posting. This should remind us that we should be grass farmers instead of cattle raisers. Cattle are there to harvest the grass.

    Drought plan

I have used syrup and the tubs but this year only fed 16% range cubes. I buy it by the ton on a pallet put into a sealed cargo trailer. Then into a trip hopper junior mounted on the back of the Kubota SS. it will hold seven fifty lb bags count the drops for each herd. I only handle the bags one...
