    Brillion seed drill

I've rented a brillion overseeder in the past. It's the PTO driven model. I can buy the ground driven model for what I can twice what I rented the other one for. The one I rented did a great job on the pasture I used it in. The rest of my pastures are in about the same shape. I was wondering...

    Brillion seed drill

I've got a chance to pick up a used brillion seed drill for a good price. Right now I have a Minneapolis Moline drill that I don't like very well. It puts the seed right on top of the ground. I've need got the disks to cut into the soil at all. I am primarally overseeding my pastures. I've...

    Broadcast marshall ryegrass?

Must have been my error, I thought it said 50 lbs before and after rain.

    Broadcast marshall ryegrass?

That would be 100 lbs an acre. I should hope you'd have a good stand. I'd call it throwning money away too. From what I've read and the chart on my drill, I'd drill it at about 20 lbs an acre.

    How much to custom bale

Around here they charge $18.50 - 25.00 per bale. That's net wrapped.

    Drilling brome

$480 is twice what I have in my drill.... ouch. I went a looked a a drill the Soil & Water Services rents here. It's a drill that will do any WS grasses with an agitator to keep the seeds from jamming. I'll add one to my drill when it cools off hopefully.

Handheld round bale turner or fipper

Why not just use a strap or chain near the top of the bale ad pull it over with the tractor? I've done it, not real hard to do. You can stand it up on end if it's laying down or make put it up on end. Hardest part is getting the strap to stay where you want it. The wife has held it or if I'm...

    Need Rain!!!

I'm glad we finally got rain, but a little too much too quick. I'm only about a mile from the Missouri river. I was kind of wondering how much closer it was going to get for a while. Hope you get the break in the weather you need.

    Eastern gamagrass

A County Extension agent recommended eastern gamagrass as a wsg. Has anyone had any experience with it?

    Making hay

I agree that you can buy it alot of times cheaper than you can grow it, pay for fuel and equipment. For instance, I talked with the guy I buy my hay from last year. He was selling the hay for $20.00 for a 1500 lb bale. He said that his costs to put it up counting leasing the hay field...
