    Plant Identification

Looks like it may be a smartweed of some kind. Does it grow anywhere in particular or just everywhere?

    Who doesn't fertilize?

I've always heard and read that if you spray soybeans with a product that will put some burn on them, such as Cobra, They will yield 2-3 bushel more than those that are not. The stress makes the plant double down and work harder to produce. It's the same principle as this.

    Who doesn't fertilize?

In this old world, you don't get something for nothing, so some form of fertilizer better be used. Removing the weeds is nearly as important, and it's best to give the ground some rest. I started renting a pasture in 2013 that had briar patches over my head and fifty foot around, and the rest...

    Orchard Grass ?

Pretty much the same here, but we're pretty close to the same latitude.

Got a bad load of Fertilizer

Sounds like an application problem if it was streaked behind the truck. If the fan speed is too high on the spreader, it can pulverize certain fertilizer and not throw it far enough to make a good pattern. Also, build up where it falls from the box to the fans can cause problems as well. It...

    Oak Tree MIG?

Livestock affects the quality of timber, so it is natural to assume they are hard on the health of the tree.

    Grazing turnips

If you get a rain, the turnips should come up if you sow early enough. You may want to aerial seed them in August or early September to get a good start. I would probably set out some hay too, just to make sure they get enough roughage. Where are you located?

    Do you call it Hay?

+2. Also, staples are what holds pieces of paper together. Steeples hold barb wire to wooden fence posts, but good luck driving them in a hedge post (not osage orange).

    Cheat grass

Same here, it's mostly along crop field edges in the spring. I've never seen it compete with fescue.

    Is it possible?

We had clover in places I never seen it, big and lush, in the spring of 2012, just before the worst drought since 1983. I hope this doesn't mean the same for you. this year is starting out like '12 for us, just hope it doesn't end the same.

    HDPE pipe supplier?

You may want to check with the utility supply companies in your area. I get 500 ft. rolls for our rural water corporation, they may sell even longer rolls. Make sure to get the inserts and compression couplings too, for when you make a connection of the two rolls. Where are you located?

    Cockleburs

2,4-D is a contact herbicide, it has virtually no residual effect. It will not kill anything next year from this year's application. Roundup is also a contact herbicide with no residual. 2,4-D is broadleaf only, Roundup is nonselective.

    AGROTAIN Stabilizer

So what's your advice? Tear the heck out of it when it's waterlogged, or put a safe, stable product on when we can minimize damage and maximize efficiency? Plant no winter wheat or similar hay crops at all? Please enlighten us.

    AGROTAIN Stabilizer

Although I normally don't fall apply pasture, a small late summer/fall application is recommended in this part of the world. Fescue takes off hard in the spring, slows down in the heat of summer, and has a late season bump in growth when the weather cools down, which will utilize the N. There...

    AGROTAIN Stabilizer

Water is the reason why people spread their fertilizer on pasture and winter wheat in the late stages of winter around here. We catch a freeze to spread it on, because the large majority of our springs are wet. If you wait to spread, you may be waiting until six weeks into the growing season...

    AGROTAIN Stabilizer

That makes sense. We normally spread our pastures shortly before they take off growing in the spring, that's why we use it. Make sure it's there when it needs it right from the start.

You spread nitrogen on your pastures three times a year?

Not Jed, but I do all preplant NH3, and use N-Serve on everything except the last tank, to clean out the toolbar, N-Serve is kinda hard on equipment.
