    Ok thanks everyone. We still have right much bermuda left out there and were not going to kill it off and plant all fescue but we have got to get something elese established out there. It dosent have to be fescue but it seemed like the best option. Is there another grass yaw would consider planting?

    Were looking to plant some kind of fescue into our aging bermuda grass stand here in NC. Do we just need to go with Kentucky 31 or is there something new and better out there? Thanks for the help.

    Rape is the same thing as canola. Canola has just been geneticly modified for consumption.

    A company here in NC has started to plant alot of rape seed for the oil. Were thinking about planting some so my question is, after harvest can you bale the leftover trash and feed to cattle and is it worth it? Also are there any nutrients in the hay. Thanks

    Thanks and I have been in contact with my local extension service and she has been helping me. I was more asking about tips on baleing it and keeping all the nutrients with the plant is there any tricks with that or is it pretty stait forward.

    Not shur if this is were I need to post this or not but, I have a friend who raises barrel racing horses and she wonts me to raise about 15 acres of alfalfa for her and the people she rides with I know nothing about alfalfa is there any advice or tips yaw could give me. I would appreciate it.

    We dont cut it for hay we only bale peanut hay, and as far as the ph goes we do a soil sample every fall when we get done with the crops and do it all at one time.

    Our biggest problem around here is we put ALOT of litter on our land and that stuff will grow crops but it will grow weeds just as good.

    Peanut Hay

    Peanut hay is all we feed to our's over the winter the cows love it. Like he said only problem with it is the dirt. We keep ours under a shelter and if we dont feed it it will hold up untill the next year. Hope this helps
