I came across similar opportunity few weeks back but it was on sheep. I sold the lambs kept the ewes for now they were thin so I’ll let them graze for a bit before salient them. I had planned on selling all of them fast but didn’t have enough scrapie tags

I called the manager at Okc last year about doing the same thing. She told me they have to advertise them as eastern cattle and they don’t sell as good as the western cattle do

    Heavy bred cow price

I bought 1 the other day reasonably priced. The last sale I went to they were going for $1100+, and were wild. Called about some larger groups today they were $1200 all 6-8 months bred. They're more optimistic then I am for fall prices

    Okc stockyards

Still working on getting my new farm fenced, so itll have to wait if I dont go from sale to sale. And I like the idea of buying some lighter calves to feed for a while and take a load

    Okc stockyards

That's what I'm leaning towards. We have to buy some to add to ours to make a full load. Thinking of buying some lighter weight and give them the full work thru. Get everything weaned vaccinated and on feed and ship a load

    Okc stockyards

I've got a few buddies that all have good cattle, just small numbers itd probably take 3 or 4 of is to get a pot load of like calfs. I've talked to one of them about it he said he was in. Haven't reached out to the others yet. I've been kicking this around for a while, think it's time to see...

    Okc stockyards

I could but would prefer not lose money, that goes without saying. I could get a couple of loads a year off local farms that were vaccinated long weaned and on feed. I would prefer to do that over sale barn but I feel theres money to be made on both scenarios

    Last sale of the year????

650-700lbs were the sweet spot last week where I sell. Of course I had 550lb steers, anything under 650 didn't bring good at all my 550lb avg $1.33. And I'll have to check but 650lb steers brought $1.48 I'm pretty sure.
