    Skid steer vs Tractor

I only have a skidloader and was going through the same predicament as you but space is a problem for me. I don't know your setup but the way I feed rounds can be a pain in the rear. Maybe its just me but the attachments seem more then tractors and there's a lot of times i wished I had a PTO. I...

    manure bucket

I've been thinking about buying a manure bucket for my skidloader and my buddy has a bucket I can buy and was thinking I could weld some rolled steel onto that bucket and make it into a manure bucket. Has anyone done anything like that, would it work or am I just spinning my wheels?

    headgate auto catch

I had to pull a calf from a heifer today and I had it barley on the pin. I think I had it in the middle hole and I'm thinking I had it set to narrow because she barely hit it hard enough to close. I had it set as sensitive as I could. What hole do you use for heifers and cows?

    headgate auto catch

I have a preifeirt model 91 headgate and today is the first time I tried to use the auto catch on a cow but it didn't work. Is there a trick to it? I've watched videos and played around with it when I got it and I did everything right as far as I'm aware.

    tractor size

I've thought about it, I'm on the fence about mfwd, not really sure if I need one yet as I know a lot of guys without them but when they get one they never go back and not sure how they got along without one. Sure would be nice to spend under 20 that's for sure

    tractor size

Thanks for all the replys. My neighbor uses a 966 on his tmr and works good. I think I will look for a MFD with a fel and around 95-110 PTO HP should do everything and then some.

    tractor size

I guess I see a lot of jd 20 series and ih 66 series. Would those be worth looking at for 8-12 grand. I know there 2wd but not sure if I need 4wd but then again I rather just buy a tractor once and be done with it. I should say my pasture is pretty steep but shouldn't be up there if it's muddy...

No farming, just a chore tractor and possibly do some 5x6 bales in the future. I would like to stay under $20000

    tractor size

I was kinda thinking like a 3020 4020 756 806 966 something with weight but won't break the bank and there's plenty out there. Or would a newer lighter 4x4 be just as good

    tractor size

I usually feed 5x6 bales so they are plenty heavy for a light tractor. I've noticed the older tractors have so much more weight then the new tractors the same size. How much of a concern would that be?
