    Thinking about new hay cutter??

    I agree about the three point hitch hookups being a beast. Rotary mowers are far worse to hook up than bush hogs which at least are directly behind the tractor instead of offset. And the bush hog wheel at the back allows relatively easy shifting side to side.

    manure bucket

    You can do it though most equipment dealers already have bucket extensions you can add to convert to a light materials bucket which is what is often needed for dried manure.

    round baling waterways

    I agree. You're talking about equipment that has to pay its way in only about a three month window and during that time will make heavy demands on your tractors. My dad normally put up 200-250 round bales a year and he felt it best to hire a contractor.

    tractor size

    I would go with the 40-50 hp range but my dad did virtually all of his work with a couple of 30 hp Ford 2000 tractors.
