    What makes Prime

Flavor helps tantalize the tongue. Get a steer that is tender and get good flavor - you got something. Good flavor is what is missing IMHO. Gone by the way side these days.

    Current hay prices

It is cheaper right now that I have ever seen it in my life time. Excellent hay too. Tested great.

Wasn't Dun referring to Boogie and msscamp's posts on using a bottle versus a bucket? They've discussed this many times.

    Best cattle at best price?

Brahman F1 crosses. Anything crossed with brahman. Hereford Brahman cross cows are in high demand. Look at the auction barns. Any cow with ear is selling high. Good heavy weaned calves is what you want and ear will get them for you. Choose your bull to follow the market.

    It actually makes sense!

If every person who had a cow was making money hand over fist, everyone would have a cow. Just like the 49ers headed to a gold strike. Some years it pays. Some years it doesn't. Seems everyone has to blame someone else.

    HANGING WT vs LIVE WT

Thank you for the welcome but I am an old one here with a new name. Perfectly fed out at 1300 pounds will net about 68% and then shrink about another 10% while aging. Processors and equipment quality can affect it.

    HANGING WT vs LIVE WT

Rob, The size of the animal (age/weight) and breed will make a difference. The only thing that can be offered is a guesstimate.
