I didn't hear Obama's speech after the vote. I heard he said something to the effect of it being a sad day in Washington due to it not passing. So when our legistlators vote the way the majority of people in the county want, it is a sad day ????

I only concrete my pipe that I use in the feedlot pens. I don't need to add water. By the time I get the hole dug, it usually is 1/2 full of water. I place pipe and dump the yellow bag Qucikrete around it. Mix with a broom handle and go onto the next. 12 inch hole, 4, 6, or 8 inch pipe...

I had to laugh this morning while watching the local news. The anchor said it was a nice mild morning...it was 9 F. I got pics of the snow "storm" from some friends in Kansas . I wasn't aware snow fell straight down. :shock:

As was stated, who makes the determination of mentally unfit? Gov't controlled healthcare, any form of PTSD, anxiety, depression, ADHD...we have a generation of kids being brought up on behavior controlling substances...it will just snowball. IMO

High here yesterday was -5 F, with a -50 F windchill. The wind died down so it was a balmy -24 F this a.m. Had to wrap ears back on one newborn, but he was up and nursed, and loving life. :shock:

Cross_7- Like it. I have to agree- heard a lady say today, she took her kids to get their annual flu shot. She got turned away because she, HAD INSURANCE. They were only administering shots to those on medical assistance... :mad:

Right after the dyed undyed fuel regulations took place, I got caught in SD. The pick up had No.2 undyed fuel in it, but I topped it off with No.1 dyed fuel (6 gallons total) because it was going to -20 in the morning when I left home. Dyed was all I had at the farm. I burned both tanks out...

One of our top producers. Will be 9 yrs old this spring. Has produced herdbull or replacement heifers every year. Has a great udder, easy keeper, carcass ultrasound numbers have been great on every calf. Might throw her in the donor pen in a couple years.

Most people would have culled that one a long time ago. Single trait selection (phenotype) never works. Hasn't produced any high quality calves (budget) in 3 years. All of his progeny seemed to cost the producers more, rather than they increase income. Pretty tough to stay sustainable...
