    Heifer attitudes

Last year I halter broke my replacements along with my sons 4-h steer to calm them all down. It was recommended by a friend of mine who does the same to his keeper heifers. It'll be interesting to see if it works out or I wasted a lot of my time. I didn't break to lead, just to tie and comb...

something to be said for breed docility

I've had cows that get nervous when working and AIing but I know who they are and run them thru the chute first and then start on the calmer ones. Normally when your working with them, the nervous ones are the first ones to run into the alley on their own, the gentle ones stand in the corners...

    Couple of bull pics

Bald eagles are making a fantastic comeback around here too. Used to be rare to see one a year, now it's not uncommon to see two or three or more. One of the greatest birds you'll ever see in person IMO. Huge wingspan that most people would appreciate. Great shot of him AND the flag together!

Too small or just right ?

Dun hit the nail right on the head here. I sold my calves at 675lbs with plenty of frame to grow into. My friend sold some 815lb calves that were small framed when compared to their bodies. Both calves brought the same money but I didn't have the feed bill that he had. His were too fleshy and...

    Basin Payweight 107S

If he really is as good as his epd's I would expect to see some sons out of him since he was born in 2006 with the ced and BW adjusted to maximize his potential. If you do use him, keep us posted on results.

    Van Nice Angus

That tells me that he's proud of what he's doing, he didn't have to honor the bull, but he did anyway. Guys like that are getting hard to come by in this dog eat dog business. Iso your doing the right thing by spreading the word about his generosity and kind gesture, and I'm sure that will sell...

    What would you do.

If you have another place to put them I would breed them too. You might make a little money pounding them out but they won't make enough to buy bred or pairs.

    How much Angus (pics)

For that kind of money you could easily get a bred cow. If you wanted registered cows that is not where you want to start your herd. Besides that its false advertisment labeling as " moderate flesh". You should sue him. Just kidding

    S A V Final Answer vs. Junear 807J

I just bought a reg. final answer son this year so I'm looking forward to see his calves next year also. The bull I bought had light BW and low WW but YW was impressive. I'm gonna use him on heifers

    Remember Paul Harvey?

I'm confused, was this video about Aberdeen Angus? Or we're they all called Aberdeen. When did it change to American angus association? There are some Aberdeen bull semen still available, was this the foundation herd? Just wondering. Never mind I researched at it got shortened in the 1950s...

    Select Sires Angus bulls

That's a big swing in DOC numbers. Are you wanting hfrs or selling all calves?

    Determining Calving Season

I start calving on jan 1 just because I want to AI for a month before I turn out the bull and I haul cows to grass on may 1. The bull breeds for feb calves and like Dun said I like them to be strong when grass is there to eat. If I had pastures close enough I would try and calve a little later...
